Lodge Operating Committees
The lodge operating committees are the workhorses of the lodge governance. They produce the various activities, events and products that are in regular use throughout the year. Each committee meets together in whatever fashion and frequency prescribed by the chairman.
Each lodge committee has a youth chairman appointed by the lodge chief (except for Communications and Membership, which is the elected lodge secretary, and Finance, which is the elected lodge treasurer) who is responsible for reporting on the activities and progress of his committee. Reporting to the chief, and by extension, the lodge executive committee, he provides a monthly report, and his area of program is discussed during the LEC meeting each month as needed. The committee chairman has an adviser appointed by the lodge adviser.
Members of the lodge (including lodge committee chairmen) may be part of one or more committees of their choosing, however chairmen may chair only a single committee.
